DECORATING IDEAS FOR SMALL SPACES

LIVING ROOM SPACE

I have a small cozy apartment with light colors to make the space appear larger. A white sectional, and pillows galore with different fabric and textures that fits perfectly with two small end tables on each side. I love all the rich gold tones that brightens the room. A white ottoman to match the sectional is used for a coffee table, you can also use this for extra seating when you invite a guest over.

White draperies flow to the floor that allows plenty of light into the room. Oversized candle holders sitting in a black wooden tray flea market find with a bowl of white silk flowers adds a nice touch to the mix. On the other side of the room is a seating area for two with a round antique wooden table in the center, perfect for relaxing or reading a good book.

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX

Everyone has their own unique style when it comes to decorating. If you have enough space, you can add a chest of drawers with a beautifully ornate framed picture above to give this a classic touch of warmth to the bathroom. Candles will complement any space, and who says you can’t add your own unique style to any room?
You can always think outside the box and let your creative juices flow with ideas that are different from everyone else, ideas that you wouldn’t think would work in the room.  I love the dark rich colors in the wood tones. I like variety, and my style is a little eclectic, tradition/victorian with a modern twist. This adds an elegant flavor to your decor and brings out your personality and taste that catches the eye when you walk into the room.

KITCHEN PERSONALITY

Add some pops of color to give your kitchen some personality. Keep the countertops free from clutter to make the space look open and airy. I love the open concept kitchen/living space that gives the room a larger and elegant, sophisticated look. Three backless stylish countertop barstools adds perfection to the living space, perfect for inviting family and friends over for the holidays, the extra seating is used for overflow when needed.

MAXIMIZE YOUR DINING ROOM

The dining room table has six white fabric covered chairs that separates the kitchen and living room space. An oversized mirror at the head of the table to make the space appear larger. There’s always a way to maximize any room with a small space. Just put your creative mind to work and come up with a design that works just right for you!

COFFEE BAR

A unique stylish space, perfect for a coffee bar with a wire basket shelving unit and hooks that showcases some of my Rae Dunn pottery.

That mirror does wonders for the space! And kudos for fitting in a coffee bar too! Thanks for the tips – some new college students could learn from these!

Great tips, thank you! I went downstairs to grab a cup of coffee and spent five minutes sprucing up some small spaces in the kitchen, it looks better now. We remodeled the kitchen a few months ago, and I couldn’t figure out how to decorate it.
