5 USEFUL WAYS TO CLEAN WITH DISTILLED WHITE VINEGAR

Keep your washing machine clean and productive.

Mix 12-15 drops of lavender essential oil (optional) and distilled white vinegar to a 4oz spray bottle and spray inside the entire barrel, gasket, and door of the washer, let sit for about 15 minutes, then wipe it out between the gasket to soak up any moisture and mildew buildup.

CLEANING YOUR FRONT LOAD WASHING MACHINE-

Add 3/4 cup of white vinegar to the laundry detergent dispenser and run the hottest water to the longest cycle. Repeat this process every 6 months to keep your washing machine clean and productive. CLEAN STAINS OUT OF YOUR CARPET-

Add equal amounts of vinegar and water to a spray bottle and spray on the stained area. Let sit and soak in for a few minutes, then blot with a paper towel, do not rub into the carpet. Repeat steps if necessary.

MIRRORS AND GLASS-

Mix a 1/2 cup water to 1/2 cup white vinegar, add 1 teaspoon of cornstarch to a spray bottle, shake the bottle well and spray on mirrors and glass using an “S” pattern to remove dirt and grime.  To make your job easier, do not waste your time and money using paper towels to clean mirrors and glass, it will streak and leave fuzz balls, and it only makes your job more complicated and time-consuming. Use a soft microfiber cloth to clean.

CLEANING YOUR COFFEE MAKER-

To clean mineral deposit built up from your coffee maker, use equal parts distilled white vinegar and water. Pour the solution into the coffee maker and brew to clean. Rinse thoroughly by running through another cycle with fresh water or until the smell of vinegar dissipates. Disclaimer (For instructions on your type of maker consult the owner’s manual).

Note: Run vinegar solution through your coffee maker about once a month to prevent calcium buildup.

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR MICROWAVE OVEN-

I hate when food splatters inside my microwave and it gets so messy and very hard to clean when it dries. This recipe will loosen the dried food & grime and all you do is wipe it clean!

  • 2 cups of water
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 drops lemon essential oils (optional)

Directions:

Boil 2 cups of water with lemon juice and vinegar, add 2 drops of lemon essential oils (optional) and place in a microwave-safe bowl inside the microwave for about 2 minutes before cleaning, this will help loosen any food particles and remove any odors. Use an oven mitt or towel when removing the bowl to protect your hands, then wipe clean with a hot wet cloth.
