Keep Spiders Away Naturally With Essential Oils

You may want to check your fruit and vegetable bags when you get home from shopping day. You never know when you may have a creepy unwelcome guest hiding inside your grocery bags. If your anything like me, I would be freaking out because I have a phobia of spiders and snakes, just to say the least! Keep a tidy house and clear out areas where they can hide like corners (cobwebs), basements, potato bins, or even inside your laundry pile. You don’t want them to multiply in your home, especially if you have small children and pets. Try this recipe to keep those creepy crawlers out of your home, but if you have an infestation of spiders, it’s best to call in the professionals and let them tackle the problem.

  • peppermint oil
  • eucalyptus oil
  • white distilled vinegar
  • non-toxic liquid dish soap
  • warm water

Add 8-10 drops of peppermint oil and 8-10 drops of eucalyptus oil to a 16 oz. glass spray bottle. Add 3/4 cup white distilled vinegar, and 1/2 teaspoon of non-toxic dish soap. Add 1 cup of warm water and shake bottle well. Spray into cracks, window sills, and entryways where those creepy spiders may enter your home. Make sure it’s ok to use on the surfaces you will be spraying. Don’t use on acid-sensitive surfaces. Shake bottle well before each use. You can also rub citrus peels on your window sills to deter the spiders from coming into your space. You can use any of the essential oils listed below.
